Driving Hope- 2nd Annual Parton Parkinson’s Project Charity Golf Tournament Raises $19,000

A Day of Impact

The fairways were filled with friendly competition, generous hearts, and a shared commitment to making a difference during the 2nd Annual Parton Parkinson’s Project Charity Golf Tournament. Thanks to the incredible support of our sponsors, golfers, volunteers, and donors, this year’s tournament raised more than $19,000 for the Parkinson’s Foundation Carolinas Chapter, bringing the tournament’s two-year fundraising total to more than $27,000!

Held on June 15, at Verdict Ridge Golf & Country Club the tournament welcomed 112 golfers from across the region for a day of camaraderie, competition, and purpose. From the morning shotgun start to the final raffle drawing and awards presentation, the event showcased what can happen when a community comes together in support of individuals and families impacted by Parkinson’s Disease.

Making a Difference

The funds raised will help the Parkinson’s Foundation Carolinas Chapter support research and provide education, resources, support groups, exercise programs, and other services that improve the lives of individuals living with Parkinson’s disease and those who care for them.

“As someone who lives with Parkinson’s, I pray every day for a cure,” said one participant.  “I am so grateful to all the people who are willing to give their time and resources to support this cause.”

Thank You to Our Supporters

The event would not be possible without the sponsors; some were back for the second year.  “Their continuous support from the very beginning makes it feel as much their tournament as ours,” said one of the organizers, Darla Torres.

From Our Founder

“The Parton Parkinson’s Project was founded on the belief that we can make a real difference for individuals and families living with Parkinson’s disease. Watching our community come together for this year’s tournament—with so much generosity, compassion, and enthusiasm—is truly inspiring. Every golfer, sponsor, volunteer, and donor played a part in raising critical funds and awareness, and together we’re helping bring hope and support to thousands of people across the Carolinas. We’re incredibly grateful and excited to continue growing this mission for years to come.”
