What Is the Super Lawyers Rising Stars List?
Super Lawyers is an attorney rating organization that evaluates lawyers through a multi-phase selection process. The Rising Stars list recognizes attorneys who are either 40 years old or younger, or who have been in practice for 10 years or less.
How Are Rising Stars Selected?
According to the Super Lawyers website, the Rising Star selection process includes:
Peer Nominations
from licensed attorneys throughout
North Carolina
Independent research
Accessing candidates based on experience, honors, case work, and disciplinary history.
Peer evaluations
conducted by practice area, involving attorneys with significant credentials and experience
Why Nine Consecutive Years Matters
Earning a single Super Lawyers Rising Stars nomination is meaningful. Earning it nine years in a row signals something different: consistent, sustained excellence recognized repeatedly by peers across the North Carolina legal community.
“This recognition is meaningful to me because it is peer-driven, and I value the trust and respect it signifies from fellow North Carolina attorneys and law firms.” – Corey Parton
